Dear Colleague,
 
 We are pleased to invite you to participate in "The 10th Workshop
on Real and Complex Singularities" which will take place at the
ICMC-USP, Sao Carlos, Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 27th of July to
1st of August of 2008.

The Sao Carlos Workshop on "Real and Complex Singularities" has
been established as one of the key events for people working on
Singularity Theory, Algebraic Geometry, Bifurcation Theory and
related areas. It brings together world experts and young researchers
to report recent achievements and exchange ideas, addressing trends
of research in a stimulating environment.
 
This time it will be significantly special to all of us, for we are
celebrating the 60th birthdays of Maria Aparecida Soares Ruas (Cidinha)
and Terence Gaffney, as well as the 10th edition of our biennial workshop.

We hope to be able to cover the local expenses for the
participants. However, since it is becoming extremely difficult
to obtain the funding, we cannot guarantee any financial
support at the moment.
 
We will let you know as soon as we have the outcome of our
grant applications, hopefully well before the event.
